<br />
I have wanted to make this cake for years. For some ridiculous reason it intimidated me. Much like Macarons do .... one day I will make those my b*tch too!<br />
<br />
The best part of this cake is you can use box cake mix. And you'll definitely need a 12 cup <a href="https://amzn.to/2BmUBvC" target="_blank">bundt cake pan</a>. I suggest making this cake the day before you plan on serving it. The longer it cools the easier it will release from the pan.<br />
<br />
Ingredients:<br />
2 cups of sugar (for caramel sauce)<br />
<br />
1 Devils Food cake mix box (plus the ingredients on the box to make it)<br />
<br />
1 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk<br />
1 12oz can of evaporated milk<br />
1/2 cup of cream or half & half<br />
1 tsp of vanilla extract<br />
<br />
Directions:<br />
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat your bundt pan with <a href="http://www.icookandcraft.com/2017/03/best-cake-release.html" target="_blank">cake release</a> or spray heavily with a <a href="https://amzn.to/2S2Vfp9" target="_blank">baking spray</a>. <br />
Make your caramel sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat cook the 2 cups of sugar until it golden colored....<b>DO NOT BURN IT</b>! You'll know it's burned because it will have a burnt smell lol. Once its a nice amber color and all the sugar has melted then it's ready.<br />
Pour it onto the bottom of your prepared bundt pan.<br />
<br />
Now combine your cake mix ingredients according to box directions and pour into your bundt pan over the caramel.<br />
<br />
In a separate bowl mix your three milks, add your vanilla extract. Slowly pour this into your bundt pan over the cake mix. Don't worry, it will magically separate while it bakes. Then cover it tightly with foil.<br />
<br />
Now find a pan big enough to fit your bundt pan into....a roasting pan works well for this. Place your bundt pan into the roasting pan and add hot water in the roasting pan, couple of inches of water is fine. I add the water while it's all in the oven so I don't have to carry it.<br />
Bake it for 1 hour and 10 minutes. When time it up place the roasting pan with the bundt pan still in it on the counter and let it cool for a couple of hours. Take it out of the roasting pan and chill it overnight in the fridge. This is why I like to make this cake the day before. The cooler it is the better it will release from the pan.<br />
When you're ready gently loosen the sides with a knife...careful not to scratch your pan. Then say a prayer to the baking gods and invert on to a large platter.<br />
<br />

This beautiful cake can be enjoyed with fresh fruit, whipped cream or just as is.....it's so good! I can't believe it took me so long to make this! It's delicious!! I hope you try this....Enjoy ♥️<br />

<span style="font-size: large;">I found this recipe a while back and when I tried it I was amazed. I have not had a problem with a cake sticking to a pan since!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I've been told that it's used it many culinary schools. Wish I would have known years ago. Would have saved me money on those </span><span style="font-size: large;"><span class="_Tgc">aerosol</span> cooking sprays that don't always work.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The formula is simple.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Mix </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">1/2 cup of flour</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">1/2 cup of shortening (</span></b><span style="font-size: large;">I used good ole <a href="http://amzn.to/2muxWbG" target="_blank">Crisco</a> in a can</span><b><span style="font-size: large;">)</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">1/2 cup of vegetable or canola oil</span></b></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK0074aHenWcoKNN2ZDrSsw1nRNQkoAbXHxxgHsz1tUsiZCPcszUGGZVEPUs2azIR7SgnxTcEsr9rpslDQ_aLU_2gqGdYN3AtJ8nJdtPrfAX5ywR0dGBKgoMprQdWyqFlmC9vsbGdDsyRx/s1600/Cake+Release1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK0074aHenWcoKNN2ZDrSsw1nRNQkoAbXHxxgHsz1tUsiZCPcszUGGZVEPUs2azIR7SgnxTcEsr9rpslDQ_aLU_2gqGdYN3AtJ8nJdtPrfAX5ywR0dGBKgoMprQdWyqFlmC9vsbGdDsyRx/s640/Cake+Release1.png" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> After mixing it thoroughly I stored it in a pretty <a href="http://amzn.to/2mGgiP8" target="_blank">jar</a> I purchased at the dollar store.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTYDqZF3eUH_iTWZCDL6WqV3mQEldCJumIH5m9HOtndNvUuotQCzd5G5OM7rgrTu6FcbMHkceNAx_2yJB1NeSFuWNdOAKXEd2hu2BPGSPsDavhL1ljLiQE2yDSCCan0pSVRHZE7Igp_cCd/s1600/Cake+Release+2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTYDqZF3eUH_iTWZCDL6WqV3mQEldCJumIH5m9HOtndNvUuotQCzd5G5OM7rgrTu6FcbMHkceNAx_2yJB1NeSFuWNdOAKXEd2hu2BPGSPsDavhL1ljLiQE2yDSCCan0pSVRHZE7Igp_cCd/s640/Cake+Release+2.png" width="480" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">And that's it! You can store this for up to 6 months in your cabinet. No need for refrigeration. You just use a <a href="http://amzn.to/2ldwxG9" target="_blank">pastry brush</a> to coat your pans when making cakes, cupcakes, muffins and everything else you would use cooking spray with. It's works great! Especially on those heavy cast iron <a href="http://amzn.to/2mfc43P" target="_blank">bundt pans</a> that have lots of details. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You can double even triple the above recipe, depending on your needs. During the Christmas holidays I just make a double batch and still had plenty left over. </span>Diana DeLaFuentehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02232913041460209602noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8716434472807372434.post-58123717618543096642016-06-05T10:00:00.000-07:002016-06-05T10:55:02.416-07:00Spicy Chocolate Fudge<span style="font-size: large;">There's something wonderful about the combination of sweet and spicy to me. I've been a fan of the "sweet and savory" combination for years.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMZmHxoaAzYkNwsDC1MKAIABID1BsB6tkkuqmyPgFFSnukWx3P-0UGS_ZGbzNZ7c9hNZebSPW2DSGoVsLoKp_gm1ntGgf7Ik7UFOaBT6QTNATojeCX_rvxtX9J6lo1lX1u_FKc73DChWQt/s1600/WM+Fudge.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMZmHxoaAzYkNwsDC1MKAIABID1BsB6tkkuqmyPgFFSnukWx3P-0UGS_ZGbzNZ7c9hNZebSPW2DSGoVsLoKp_gm1ntGgf7Ik7UFOaBT6QTNATojeCX_rvxtX9J6lo1lX1u_FKc73DChWQt/s640/WM+Fudge.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">When I first came across this recipe years ago I loved it and saved it. I tend to write down recipes, put them away and forget about them. So as I was going through my recipes, that I keep in a giant binder, I found this one and decided to give it a try.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-size: large;">After I made it I realized that I could improve it and make it less work by doing something differently. Sometimes when I film my videos it will often be the first time I've made the recipe because I want my subscribers to get an honest opinion of it. Which is evident in my <a href="https://youtu.be/wgTZCF4WSCo" target="_blank">Oopsie Bread </a>video. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The next time I make this fudge, or any other fudge that requires similar ingredients, I will definitely add them with the condensed milk. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The ingredients are simple</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1 can (14oz) of sweetened condensed milk</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">3 cups of milk chocolate or you can use semisweet chocolate or a combination of both. In my video you'll see that I used 2 cup of milk chocolate and 1 cup of semi sweet chocolate.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1 teaspoon of cinnamon</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1 teaspoon of vanilla extract</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. You can add half of that 1/8 tsp, if you want it less spicy. I didn't think that 1/4 tsp made it too spicy but some people have a different tolerance spicy foods so you can certainly make it less spicy if that what you like.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1 cup of chopped walnuts (or add your favorite type of nuts) </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's the instructions</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Line an <a amzn-ps-bm-asin="B003KZGXU8" class="amzn_ps_bm_tl" data-amzn-link-id="88467b31132a88bef430372657da8fab" data-amzn-ps-bm-keyword="8x8 pan" href="http://www.amazon.com/Pyrex-Easy-8-Inch-Square-Baking/dp/B003KZGXU8/ref=as_li_bk_tl/?tag=enj0d-20&linkId=88467b31132a88bef430372657da8fab&linkCode=ktl" id="amznPsBmLink_4432520" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">8x8 pan</a><img alt="" border="0" height="0" id="amznPsBmPixel_4432520" src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?source=bk&t=enj0d-20&bm-id=default&l=ktl&linkId=88467b31132a88bef430372657da8fab&_cb=1465145232098" style="border: none !important; height: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; width: 0px !important;" width="0" /> with foil or parchment paper and set aside. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">In a heavy bottom saucepan over low heat, heat the condensed milk. In the video I add the chocolate after this point. But when I make it again, and if you decide to try this recipe, I suggest you add the cinnamon, cayenne and vanilla and make sure it's well incorporated into the milk before you add the chocolate. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After all the ingredients are added cook on a very love heat until all the chips are melted. take it off the heat, add the nuts and put it into your pan that you've set aside. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Let it chill for at least 4 hours in the refrigerator. After it's set pull it out of the pan, remove the foil or parchment and cut into bite size pieces.</span><br />
<br />

<span style="font-size: large;">They come in a wonderful variety of designs and are made of a very sturdy plastic. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">It's a nice way to put together something pretty for parties, bake sales, or holidays without doing so much work. And it's great for getting kids involved too.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">And it's so simple to put together. </span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWn3uru1-aVN6ZEe774LPrrigMBrdIDw5ExPchzHbMtO69rys6idQpDgWi2wZ8qnxaBTYF6driz68H1j2EXGJ_SqiamP5YgaZcL_klmy3gdNSMc_PyHm7UBjp90NPXnjy-NJbIfnC1k7ww/s1600/WM2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="344" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWn3uru1-aVN6ZEe774LPrrigMBrdIDw5ExPchzHbMtO69rys6idQpDgWi2wZ8qnxaBTYF6driz68H1j2EXGJ_SqiamP5YgaZcL_klmy3gdNSMc_PyHm7UBjp90NPXnjy-NJbIfnC1k7ww/s640/WM2.png" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<i><b>Here's the ingredients and instructions.</b></i><br />
<br />
20 to 25 medium size button mushrooms<br />
1/2 cup of butter (1 stick)<br />
3 or 4 cloves of garlic very finely minced<br />
2 TBS of fresh thyme finely minced ( if you’re using dried thyme only use 1 TBS)<br />
2 TBS of lemon juice<br />
1/4 tsp of pepper<br />
1/4 tsp of salt<br />
1/4 cup or less of Panko crumbs or regular breadcrumbs<br />
<br />
Clean your mushrooms. Cut the stems of the mushrooms so that they’re level to the caps. Place them in an oven proof dish. You can even use a pie plate or any shallow oven proof dish that you have. <br />
Drizzle the butter mix over the top of the mushrooms. Sprinkle the Panko (or breadcrumbs) over the mushrooms. <br />
Bake at 400 or 425 for 10 to 15 minutes. If you like you can also broil them towards the end of the cooking time to brown the topping even more. Just be sure to watch them so they don’t burn! <br />
Enjoy ♥<br />
<br />

I don't know what took me so long to start one...but it's never to late. My neighbor started one last year and she did a great job for her first time. She inspired me to start my own garden. I wanted to create a unique border for it. I found these rocks and after looking at them for days I thought ...Nah too plain. So I thought why not put to good use all these pressed flowers and leaves that I have.<br />
I have this great flower press that I bought years ago made of heavy slate (can't remember where I got it) and every summer I collect and press various leaves and flowers that I find. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I started by washing and scrubbing the rocks. Then painting the rocks black. I just used regular acrylic <a amzn-ps-bm-asin="B0018NBUU2" class="amzn_ps_bm_tl" data-amzn-link-id="be262b3ba4856242af3192273d70be4e" data-amzn-ps-bm-keyword="Apple barrel black paint" href="http://www.amazon.com/Plaid-21148-Barrel-16-Ounce-Acrylic/dp/B0018NBUU2/ref=as_li_bk_tl/?tag=enj0d-20&linkId=be262b3ba4856242af3192273d70be4e&linkCode=ktl" id="amznPsBmLink_6746799" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">flat black paint.</a><img alt="" border="0" height="0" id="amznPsBmPixel_6746799" src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?source=bk&t=enj0d-20&bm-id=default&l=ktl&linkId=be262b3ba4856242af3192273d70be4e&_cb=1457632058222" style="border: none !important; height: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; width: 0px !important;" width="0" /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf92t7hiGJdXuUcMzdANZ5FJQIwdCx5C42ph-M8heYrm397OzUts0vEtLSFQC2276ISjgz8jf_qZ_IgwGvimag9HYH7f-TB_fltQerzz8v2AkMZcj2VjtclGmcG1KeViNwjKmMmjuWbpbu/s1600/WM1_002.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf92t7hiGJdXuUcMzdANZ5FJQIwdCx5C42ph-M8heYrm397OzUts0vEtLSFQC2276ISjgz8jf_qZ_IgwGvimag9HYH7f-TB_fltQerzz8v2AkMZcj2VjtclGmcG1KeViNwjKmMmjuWbpbu/s400/WM1_002.png" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then I carefully glued flowers and leaves on the rocks. I used a spray glue by <a amzn-ps-bm-asin="B001PMGAGK" class="amzn_ps_bm_tl" data-amzn-link-id="5f5b0a88081aa504e4429699b813eb14" data-amzn-ps-bm-keyword="Elmers craft bond spray" href="http://www.amazon.com/Elmers-E455-Strong-Adhesive-13-5-Ounce/dp/B001PMGAGK/ref=as_li_bk_tl/?tag=enj0d-20&linkId=5f5b0a88081aa504e4429699b813eb14&linkCode=ktl" id="amznPsBmLink_7217203" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Elmers</a><img alt="" border="0" height="0" id="amznPsBmPixel_7217203" src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?source=bk&t=enj0d-20&bm-id=default&l=ktl&linkId=5f5b0a88081aa504e4429699b813eb14&_cb=1457633460495" style="border: none !important; height: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; width: 0px !important;" width="0" /> on the underside of the leaves to stick them to the rock. Then added another <a amzn-ps-bm-asin="B00178KLEY" class="amzn_ps_bm_tl" data-amzn-link-id="25d00a746a01d225e5de1fd6951c567f" data-amzn-ps-bm-keyword="craft glue" href="http://www.amazon.com/ALEENES-15599-Purpose-Glue-8-Ounce/dp/B00178KLEY/ref=as_li_bk_tl/?tag=enj0d-20&linkId=25d00a746a01d225e5de1fd6951c567f&linkCode=ktl" id="amznPsBmLink_1603046" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">craft glue</a><img alt="" border="0" height="0" id="amznPsBmPixel_1603046" src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?source=bk&t=enj0d-20&bm-id=default&l=ktl&linkId=25d00a746a01d225e5de1fd6951c567f&_cb=1457633490128" style="border: none !important; height: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; width: 0px !important;" width="0" /> to make sure they were really secured.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just kept adding leaves and flowers until I got the look I wanted.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirtB8xDlaOO8nDTdIOgOdJCCrZiS9WQep1F4swU_DnTndSJk-Sc5ofMzE1tLdD2uxzXkh7sMFe-hf2FMLYVNMb7c8JaDS8VeoR002Rn7PgjZjZuzBPs3I4SyAFJwd6_ukR40BTNg7y-AX6/s1600/WM1_006.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirtB8xDlaOO8nDTdIOgOdJCCrZiS9WQep1F4swU_DnTndSJk-Sc5ofMzE1tLdD2uxzXkh7sMFe-hf2FMLYVNMb7c8JaDS8VeoR002Rn7PgjZjZuzBPs3I4SyAFJwd6_ukR40BTNg7y-AX6/s400/WM1_006.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I made sure to put plenty of glue, let it dry a for about a 1/2 hour and then placed the rock upside down on wax paper over a thick towel to make sure it flattened all the leaves onto the rock. Don't forget to use wax paper so it doesn't stick.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I let the glue dry for a few hours. Then painted a <a amzn-ps-bm-asin="B0031ZO9AI" class="amzn_ps_bm_tl" data-amzn-link-id="ee81057a3f7c8d171c5c1f09543c4287" data-amzn-ps-bm-keyword="gloss sealer" href="http://www.amazon.com/Folk-Art-8-Ounce-Outdoor-Sealer/dp/B0031ZO9AI/ref=as_li_bk_tl/?tag=enj0d-20&linkId=ee81057a3f7c8d171c5c1f09543c4287&linkCode=ktl" id="amznPsBmLink_1895187" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">clear outdoor seal</a><img alt="" border="0" height="0" id="amznPsBmPixel_1895187" src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?source=bk&t=enj0d-20&bm-id=default&l=ktl&linkId=ee81057a3f7c8d171c5c1f09543c4287&_cb=1457635211340" style="border: none !important; height: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; width: 0px !important;" width="0" />. I started by painting the underside of the rock first with two coats. After I let it dry overnight I painted the seal over the flowers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used a <a amzn-ps-bm-asin="B0031ZO9AI" class="amzn_ps_bm_tl" data-amzn-link-id="69d1a8a67cc284b885801067db5e027f" data-amzn-ps-bm-keyword="gloss outdoor sealer" href="http://www.amazon.com/Folk-Art-8-Ounce-Outdoor-Sealer/dp/B0031ZO9AI/ref=as_li_bk_tl/?tag=enj0d-20&linkId=69d1a8a67cc284b885801067db5e027f&linkCode=ktl" id="amznPsBmLink_3423985" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">gloss outdoor sealer</a><img alt="" border="0" height="0" id="amznPsBmPixel_3423985" src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?source=bk&t=enj0d-20&bm-id=default&l=ktl&linkId=69d1a8a67cc284b885801067db5e027f&_cb=1457633740602" style="border: none !important; height: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; width: 0px !important;" width="0" />. <img alt="" border="0" height="0" id="amznPsBmPixel_9764297" src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?source=bk&t=enj0d-20&bm-id=default&l=ktl&linkId=5cc787ed115aa01aea81015634b31600&_cb=1457632453989" style="border: none !important; height: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; padding: 0px !important; width: 0px !important;" width="0" />Don't worry about the white film you might get under the sealant when you first paint it. That's from the glue. Once it's completely dry it will go away. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I put 2 coats under the rock and about 3 on top. </div>

And here they are all done! I LOVE IT! I've made quite a few of them to add to my garden border and I'm still working on some more. I plan on using some for my outdoor patio table too. I thought they'd be great for keeping napkins and paper plates from flying away when we eat outside. </div>

One because it's so easy to put together. And another is because you can eat it anytime of the day.<br />

My favorite time to have them is in the morning with a cup of coffee.<br />
<br />
Ingredients:<br />
Crust and Topping <br />
1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)<br />
1 cup of all purpose flour<br />
3/4 cups of old fashioned rolled oats ( Do not use quick oats, it wont taste as good)<br />
1/4 cup of granulate sugar<br />
1/4 of brown sugar<br />
Reserve on cup of this mix for the topping<br />
<br />
Blueberry Layer: 12 ounces (2 cups) pf frozen blueberries <br />
1/4 of granulated sugar<br />
2 TBS of lemon juice<br />
2 tsp of cornstarch<br />
<br />
Preheat oven to 350º. Line an 8x8 pan with foil and spray with a non stick spray<br />
Make the crust and topping mix and reserve 1 cup of it for the topping. Press the remaining mix into foil lined pan.<br />
Make the blueberry layer and pour over the crust. Crumble topping over it and bake for about 50 minutes. If you’re using fresh blueberries cook it for about 15 minutes less. <br />
<br />
<br />

It's a very easy, low cost, craft. I just put on some headphones with my favorite music and quill away!<br />
<br />
Here's a look at a work in progress that I recently did.<br />
<br />
I start by printing a saying on card stock or any paper that I like for that particular project. Then I add the quilled scrolls to it by gluing the edge of the strips to it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl32DdxDeD6F_jwBjevTNQu09mwL7TuPLmtKj9_q0FCw8gOzA25kKZzj7K4Zj29PWZttGj_Os_z2IH_Dzh24FKlxPMWu8wDUvaiJzTaH_AQAXQ_Ri5kQbc5bzJL80vD-4YxG4EM9eu7Ls9/s1600/IMG_0571.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl32DdxDeD6F_jwBjevTNQu09mwL7TuPLmtKj9_q0FCw8gOzA25kKZzj7K4Zj29PWZttGj_Os_z2IH_Dzh24FKlxPMWu8wDUvaiJzTaH_AQAXQ_Ri5kQbc5bzJL80vD-4YxG4EM9eu7Ls9/s400/IMG_0571.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
After quilling some flowers and leaves I start building on the scrolls</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2SyhLPbvP58j4ct0eYv6VNkc5ciwItGD7Ngp6JB5mpk5-5kWN4uDTvysjfeEpOoXBxMTeZuonyAX3RTurlGmTZWbL-7XgB8wFrSHfZz5xW4boqx6n9_YfYWo12FcKaSaJGX_FfjWHUa3B/s1600/WM4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2SyhLPbvP58j4ct0eYv6VNkc5ciwItGD7Ngp6JB5mpk5-5kWN4uDTvysjfeEpOoXBxMTeZuonyAX3RTurlGmTZWbL-7XgB8wFrSHfZz5xW4boqx6n9_YfYWo12FcKaSaJGX_FfjWHUa3B/s400/WM4.png" width="300" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the finished project. Now I just need to frame it in to a shadow box. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMT8W4ePWHxYk7bE8q8QJwAjoe978j1hIFV8ICRESSJxlh3RunvEvkx4NncV5RMQ3XC5nO6YwpSpIx1PLpcsCnfDy4iLua0-LxcRPIvCdzJWb7_H9pgAnSwPyRMFAWaENf4L3CW1MyTwEq/s1600/WM6.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMT8W4ePWHxYk7bE8q8QJwAjoe978j1hIFV8ICRESSJxlh3RunvEvkx4NncV5RMQ3XC5nO6YwpSpIx1PLpcsCnfDy4iLua0-LxcRPIvCdzJWb7_H9pgAnSwPyRMFAWaENf4L3CW1MyTwEq/s640/WM6.png" width="640" /></a></div>
I made a similar one for a friend years ago and because I liked it so much (especially the saying ) I decided to make one for myself.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here's another project I made for my son and his wife with their wedding photo and invitation. I matted the photos and added quilled flowers to the edges. All framed in a shadow box. Calla lillies were her wedding flowers. They loved it!</div>

I have a lot of USB and charging cords all over the place. Let's face it, that's our lives now.<br />
But it drives my OCD NUTS!!<br />
<br />
I stumbled across this idea using toilet paper rolls and tried it. Worked out great!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i>Here's how</i></b>:</div>
<br />
I got a few toilet paper rolls out of a box I've been saving them in. Yes saving them. I've made a few other things from them so I started saving them because I'm a psycho bitch and I figured one day I will need them....well that day came! So don't judge me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcLCQ4Ofwbq7pD0f5yLvKmQcGKcjD5hLK7ol8OQvgfx3Omm9mwTLeRFmmAc2GLtT-WFI2p_CIrZvLXummKGfC6QYYh1lT0Tessu81ugE0bWplHQINgLmE-nCNIkoWu8W8G_O01tnlXJaDF/s1600/WM_001.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcLCQ4Ofwbq7pD0f5yLvKmQcGKcjD5hLK7ol8OQvgfx3Omm9mwTLeRFmmAc2GLtT-WFI2p_CIrZvLXummKGfC6QYYh1lT0Tessu81ugE0bWplHQINgLmE-nCNIkoWu8W8G_O01tnlXJaDF/s400/WM_001.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then I painted them black because they look ugly plain. You can paint them any color you like but I had a lot of black paint.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
In some of the comments people have asked if this could be made without a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F7822Q/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000F7822Q&linkCode=as2&tag=enj0d-20&linkId=LI42ADLUY3NPIUC6" target="_blank">Springform Pan</a>. The answer is no....it would be nearly impossible to unmold without the use of this type of pan. Whether it be cheesecakes or this Pasta Pie recipe, I have always found it handy to own one.</div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<u>Recipe</u></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2 cups of Oats</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1/3 cup of Brown Sugar</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 teaspoon of Baking Powder<br />
1 teaspoon of Cinnamon</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1/2 teaspoon of Salt</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 cup of Walnuts</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 cup of Raspberries</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2 cups of Milk</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 Egg</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1Banana</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
Preheat oven to 375°F and generously spray the inside of a baking dish with cooking spray and place on a baking sheet.<br />
<br />
In a large bowl, mix together the oats, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, half the walnuts, half the raspberries and half the blueberries. (Save the other half of raspberries, walnuts and blueberries for the top of the oatmeal).<br />
<br />
In another large bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, butter and vanilla extract.<br />
Add the oat mixture to prepared baking dish. Arrange the remaining raspberries, walnuts and blueberries on top. Add the banana slices to the top then pour the milk mixture over everything. Gently shake the baking dish to help the milk mixture go throughout the oats.<br />
<br />
Bake 30 to 35, depending on your oven minutes or until the top is nicely golden brown and the milk mixture has set.<br />

I always enjoy making these, not only because they taste so good...but because I don't always eat very healthy and these pancakes make me feel like I'm doing something healthy. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u>Here's the recipe</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u><br />
</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 cups of Old Fashioned Quaker oats or quick cooking oatmeal</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 cups of Buttermik</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 large eggs</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 tablespoon of honey</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/2 cup flour</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 tablespoons of Sugar</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 teaspoon of baking soda </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1 teaspoon of baking powder</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
1/2 teaspoon of Salt</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Add oats and buttermilk to a mixing bowl. Stir to combine and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight (this gives the pancakes their distinctive texture). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Add eggs, honey and oil. Stir to combine. Add the remaining ingredients and mix together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Lightly oil a non-stick pan or griddle. Pour batter in 1/4 cup increments. Watch for the tops to bubble. Turn pancakes and cook until golden on the second side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
**If you don't have buttermilk handy (which I never do) Just add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to a measuring cup. Then fill with milk until you have a measurement of 2 cups. Let sit for 10 minutes then stir and add to your oats. I also heard that lemon juice works the same way as the vinegar but I have never tired using the lemon juice way.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<u>Here's The Recipe</u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 cans of Plain Refrigerator Biscuits</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 Cans Of Cinnamon Rolls</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 1/2 cups of Cream</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 /1/2 cups of Packed Brown Sugar</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 Cup of chopped Walnuts or Pecans</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Cut each biscuit into quarters - put aside. Grease Bundt pan. placed some chopped nuts in the pan.<br />
Now, half of those quarters, and layer them in the bottom of your greased bundt pan.<br />
You should also preheat your oven to 350F.<br />
<br />
In a small sauce pan, heat your cream.<br />
<br />
Add the brown sugar to your cream.<br />
Then add 1 1/2 tablespoons of cinnamon.<br />
<br />
When you get a nice deep brown color, stir in 1 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans, your choice.<br />
<br />
Pour the mixture into a 2 cup measuring jug. You should have about 2-2 1/2 cups of this mixture now.<br />
1 cup will go on the lower layer, and 1 cup will go on the top layer of biscuit quarters.<br />
Pour the mixture around the bundt pan, over the biscuit quarters. Remember, use only half of your mixture, about 1 cup.<br />
Once you've gone completely around the pan, and used 1 cup of your brown sugar mixture, start layering on the next set of biscuit quarters. The pour second half of your cream mixture over top<br />
<br />
Now place your pan in your preheated 350º oven, and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown. It is important not to overcook this cake. So after 45 minutes be sure to check it and if you think it's not done just check it every 5 minutes after that.<br />
Once out of the oven, give the cake 10 minutes to cool slightly, and then flip on to a plate or platter. I used the frosting that came in the cinnamon roll cans over the top.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've seen many Monkey Bread videos on YouTube but noticed that none were like mine so I decided to make this video and share my version.</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I stumbled across this recipe for chocolate pudding and I realized I had ALL the ingredients, which doesn't always happen. I want to share it because it's actually the first time I've ever made pudding from scratch. And one of my testers (my daughter's friend Michael) tasted it while it was warm and said it was amazing...Yayyy!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b><i>Here's the recipe</i></b> ~</div>
2 Cups of milk<br />
1/3 cup of sugar (or artificial sweetener equivalent)<br />
1/4 of unsweetened cocoa powder<br />
31/2 tablespoons of cornstarch<br />
1/8 teaspoon of salt<br />
1 tablespoon of Frangelico liquor or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In a medium sauce pan stir together all the ingredients except the extract or liqueur that you're using. Turn heat to medium high and stir and cook until it thickens...about 5 minutes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Remove from heat add vanilla extract (or liqueur of choice) and pour into pudding cups.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You can serve it warm or chilled.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><span style="color: red;">**</span>If you want a deeper chocolate flavor add 2 ounces of bittersweet chocolate, that's been chopped in small pieces, while cooking the pudding.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><i><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Not a big fan of Margarine. Especially after I found out that it's actually a terrible gray color before they add things to make it yellow. I mean, would you eat it if it came in the original gray color....I think not. Read about some of the Evils of Margarine here.... <a href="http://www.healthiertalk.com/your-brain-margarine-1626">This Is Your Brain On Margarine</a></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Anyway</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">This morning I was making toast and of course when you take the butter out of the fridge it's IMPOSSIBLE to spread without destroying your bread. So I Googled <i>"How long can I keep butter out before it goes rancid?"</i></span></span> <span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">and here's what I found out.</span></span><br />
<br />
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Butter usually can be kept out for several days without going rancid (salted butter will keep longer because salt acts as a preservative). Exactly how long butter will stay fresh at room temperature depends on how much heat and light it gets and whether it’s wrapped.</span></span></b><br />
<br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">One thing I had that worked out great was this <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A1APL8/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000A1APL8&linkCode=as2&tag=enj0d-20&linkId=DD2YQCC5IKHVZT6O" target="_blank">Butter crock</a>. You replace the water in it every 3 days and your butter can stay out for a month...LOVED IT! It was under $20.00 and well worth it. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Did you know that the color of those tabs on bread products meant something??? I didn't!!</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;">
<br />
I found this out and had to share...the color corresponds with the day the bread was baked. Good way to remember is that it's in alphabetical order.<br />
<br />
Starting with B (Blue) for Monday and ending with Y (yellow) for Saturday. There's no Sunday.</span>Diana DeLaFuentehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02232913041460209602noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8716434472807372434.post-64968959883549837552010-08-31T16:35:00.001-07:002016-02-11T13:02:07.823-08:00Heavenly Taters<br />

These potatoes are mad easy to prepare. I cooked bacon with a little oil in the pan. Then added 1 chopped onion and 2 cloves of chopped garlic. I cubed about 5 medium potatoes. Added some salt, pepper and paprika. After they cooked for about 20 minutes I added 1/2 cup of chicken stocked and covered it for about another 15 minutes. After that I take off the lid, raised the heat and let the liquid cook out. Great side dish....even good for breakfast with eggs!! <br />
